BGCNWNJ will present a high school student athlete with a scholarship to their school of choice!

Applications will be available at the Guidance offices of Wayne Valley, Wayne Hills and Pequannock High Schools, the Club and the Club’s web site.  Requirements are as follows:

• Applicants must be current high school juniors.
• Applicants must have played a Club travel and/or recreation level sport for 4 complete seasons.
• Applicants must have played in one or more high school sport for 3 seasons.
• The form will be signed by the applicant, parent or guardian, athletic director and guidance counselor.
• The athletic director will verify the high school sport participation.
• The guidance counselor will provide GPA and class rank.

Each year the club will assemble a committee to review applications and choose one (1) award recipient per school.  The committee will have the discretion, under exceptional circumstances, to choose a private school winner and/or multiple winners at a particular school.

The purpose of this award is to raise awareness of The Club and recognize those athletes that have taken advantage of our programs and continued to play a sport in high school, while maintaining a strong academic performance.

Selection of winners will be at the sole discretion of the committee.

Recipients will be announced in June and will be invited to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northwest New Jersey Annual Dinner to be presented with a plaque or certificate and a $500 scholarship to be sent to their school of choice upon presentation to the Club of a school bill.
